Last year I prerecorded videos for my statistics course. The videos are quite good, but also a bit dull, because I used slides to explain the course material. Back then, this was the easiest and least time-consuming way for me to record my lectures. I will use the videos again this year, but in an improved form. Using the lightboard I worked out some examples (that were originally discussed using slides), and I replaced these parts in last year’s videos. I like the result! By writing down everything step by step, students have time to process what is written, and I believe seeing me write is much more engaging then just looking at slides and listening to my voice.""
